Ardyth Bowen

–

Lincoln, Nebraska

With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Ardyth Bowen, a devoted wife, beloved mother and cherished grandmother. Ardyth passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025.

Ardyth’s life was defined by both tenderness and strength. She possessed a soft heart that welcomed all with warmth and compassion yet within her beat the spirit of a warrior - resilient, determined and unyielding in the face of life’s challenges. Ardyth was a constant source of grace and courage.

She poured her love into her family, the cornerstone of her life. Her marriage was a partnership built on deep love and mutual respect. As a mother , she nurtured her children with patience, guidance and unconditional love. As a grandmother, she found joy and pride in each grandchild, offering gentle wisdom and boundless support.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Theodore “Ted” Bowen, two daughters Teresa Calafiore (spouse Ralph Calafiore), Tricia Arps (spouse Mike Arps). Ardyth was a proud grandmother to Caleb and Seth Calafiore, and Lucas and Sydney Arps.

Ardyth was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Arthur and Myrtha Haden, as well as her brother Don Haden, and sisters, Eleanor Ham, Marlene Brown, and Nancy Peabody. Though she mourned the loss of each dearly, Ardyth carried their memory with love and grace throughout her life.

Ardyth’s kindness touched many beyond her family. She believed in lifting others, quietly offering help where it was needed, and never seeking recognition. Her legacy lives on in the lives that she shaped, the strength she modeled, and the love she gave so freely.

Though we mourn her loss, we celebrate her life - one of quiet heroism, fierce devotion and enduring love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home 5200 R St., Lincoln NE. The family requests you to join them in wearing bright colorful, comfortable clothing in place of traditional black. Hawaiian shirts, shorts and sandals are welcome.
