Barton L Patterson Obituary (1946

Barton L. Patterson, 72, of Lincoln, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018. Bart was born in Barneston, Nebraska on November 25, 1946 to Clarence Patterson and Velda McCown. He was raised on a farm in Barneston until his father passed when he was approximately 13 years of age. At that time his mother moved the family of 10 children (6 boys and 4 girls) to Lincoln. He worked during his high school years and later managed his own service station. He then became delivery driver for Pepsi in the McCool Junction and York area. Bart and Jo met in high school and were sweethearts for four years until their marriage on February 11, 1967. Even though Bart had only completed the 11th grade he was pursued by an agent of Haifley Association to become an insurance agent in 1968. He accepted the challenge as he enjoyed interacting with others. He worked and traveled throughout Nebraska and the United States. He especially enjoyed the McCool Junction area where he also became personal friends with many of his clients as well as their agent. He was retired from Stellar Financial. He loved Husker football and all other Husker sports. He also enjoyed Nascar and especially NHRA racing.Barton is survived by his wife; Jolene, son; Barton L. (Michele) Patterson, Jr., 4 brothers, 2 sisters.
