Bernard Dale Johnson, 78, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away September 22, 2022, with his family by his side. He was born May 17, 1944, to Charles O. and Kathryn (Eiler) Johnson in Lincoln. Dale lived and was raised in Cortland, Nebraska. He traveled with combine crews harvesting in various states and worked on concrete grain elevators in Firth and Princeton. He also attended body & fender school and was a glazier working in Denver, Omaha and Lincoln. Dale started his own concrete business in 1973. To his delight, each one of his sons worked with him as teenagers and young adults. Dale enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and target shooting with his boys and friends. He enjoyed guns, reloading and driving the muscle cars of the ‘60s. \n\nDale married Karen Roblyer on July 14, 1967, at St. Aquinas Catholic Church in Lincoln and was an active member of the Cathedral of the Risen Christ. To this marriage of 55 years were born four children. Dale is survived by his wife and children Bradley (Lorinda), rural Hickman, Nebraska; Kari (Scott) Firebaugh, Lincoln; Brian (Gretchen) Manhattan, Kansas; and Bryce (Renee), Seward, Nebraska as well as 12 beautiful grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Orlin Johnson, who died in childhood, and Lyle Johnson who served in the Marines in Vietnam. \n \nMass of Christian Burial: Monday, September 26, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Cathedral of the Risen Christ (3500 Sheridan Blvd.)\n\nVisitation: Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM with Rosary Service beginning at 7:30 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home (5200 R Street).\n\nInterment: Cortland Cemetery, Cortland, NE.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for future designation.
