Dale E. Wolf

Dale E. Wolf, 90, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023, at the Saunders Medical Center. Born on August 15, 1933, in Douglas, Nebraska, to Elmer and Frances (Sargent) Wolfe. He attended school in Alexandria and graduated high school with the class of 1951.

Dale enlisted in the U.S. Navy and attended boot camp in San Diego, CA. He trained to be a Radar man and served on board the USS Hancock.  He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy.  After the service, he farmed for a few years before becoming a Lincoln Police Officer.

Dale worked for the University of Nebraska Police Department. He then farmed for UNL near Mead at the Research Center for 30 years.

Dale married Margarite E. Sinn on December 31, 1954. He enjoyed reading western books, raising horses, playing cards, watching TV and spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The highlight of his day was visits from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved to share his candy drawer with anyone who came for a visit.

Dale is survived by his wife, Margarite Wolf of Valparaiso, NE; sons, Richard Wolf (Pam Schaaf) of Bee, NE, Carl (Melissa) Wolf of Mayetta, KS, Larry Wolf (Patty Stork) of South Sioux City, NE, and Terry Wolf of Valparaiso, NE; daughters, Anita Everhart of Fairbury, NE, Carol (Allen Felton) Cantor of Chester, VA, and Laura (Curtiss) Downs of Lincoln, NE; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; sister Barbara Waugh of Stromsburg, NE; sister-in-law, Linda Wolfe of Fairbury, NE; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Sherman Wolfe, Duane Wolfe (as an infant) and Kenneth Wolfe, sisters Doris Wolfe and Helen Hudson and great-grandchildren Logan Ketterman and MacKenzee Ketterman.

Graveside service at 11:00am, Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Alexandria Cemetery, Alexandria, NE with Pastor Darlene Novotny presiding. Casual attire is encouraged.
