Dan Staples Obituary (1958

Dan "The Ice Man" Staples, 58, passed away August 11, 2017 at The Monarch in Lincoln, Ne.Daniel J. Staples was born November 30, 1958 in Van Nuys, California the son of Howard and Margaret Staples. He graduated from the Ogallala High School with the class of 1977. Dan married Pam Marik on October 23, 1981 in Ogallala, Nebraska. He was previously the owner of the Ogallala Ice Company prior to selling it to Artic Glacier Ice and becoming a Distribution Manager for their Lincoln location. Dan enjoyed spending his time supporting and coaching his children in various sports and activities, playing pool, golfing, and his annual AARP spring break trips. He is known by his family and friends for his witty, dry humor and infectious smile that touched the lives of those he met.Dan is survived by his wife Pam Staples of Lincoln, NE; children, Corey (Amy) Staples of Broke Bow, NE, Heath Staples of Elkhorn, NE and Morgan (Eric) Moody of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Brendan Diaz, Kali Staples, Molly Staples, Gaby Staples, Jaycee Staples and Baby Moody; sister, Mary Alice Shine of Lakewood, CO; brother, Patrick (Linda) Staples of Hastings, NE; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert Staples and Timothy Staples.A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00PM, Friday, August 18, 2017 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 5200 R Street.
