Denise Renee Rilinger

Denise Renee Rilinger, 48, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away December 2, 2019. Denise was born September 12, 1971, in Humboldt, Nebraska to David R. and Sharon K. Rilinger, and grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. She attended Lincoln High School and worked a number of years in production at the Lincoln Journal Star. She lived for thirteen years in Seward and later in Columbus, Nebraska. Denise was especially loved by her paternal grandparents. She was the only girl in a family of boys, and she had a special relationship with "Grandpa". Unfortunately, because of Denise's maternal grandparents early passing, she didn't know them well. Denise is remembered as a rather shy, soft spoken and warm person. She enjoyed friends, music and special television programs. Throughout her life, Denise experienced poor health, and when her health seriously declined two years before her passing, she returned to her parents' home where they had lovingly prepared an apartment in their basement and provided care and support. Denise is survived by her loving mother, her aunt Nadine Byrom of Greely, Colorado, uncle Dennis Rilinger of Kansas City, Missouri, and many cousins.
