James E. Pappas passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 in Lincoln Nebraska surrounded by his wife and children. At 77 years young, James had countless endeavors, from working on the ranch, to his days in the legislature, from the city to the lake and everywhere in between. He was caught racing on the dragstrip and racing to the lake after work on a Friday. He loved watching the girls swim in the pool, a love for water they learned from him and all the time spent at the lake. Come to think of it, all his ventures set up his happiest moments, time with his family at Lake McConaughy.\nA celebration of James' illustrious life will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 3-6pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home at 52nd and R in Lincoln, NE. We will be honoring James by enjoying a few beers, listening to some music, and sharing our favorite stories of James (and how he creatively insulted all of us). Please stop by at any point, wearing whatever James knew you best in.\nJames is survived by his wife Kimberly of Lincoln and their four children (Fallyn, Nikki, Calvin, and Brandy) and four grandchildren (Andrew, Gabe, Bentley, Oliver). From a previous marriage James is also survived by two children (James Jr. and Amy) as well as five grandchildren (Sarah, Ryan, Keyton, Emerson, and Greyson) and James' only great-grandchild (Westley).\nIn lieu of flowers, please share a memory of James with his family.\nIn lieu of flowers, please share a memory of James with his family.
