Jeremy T. Keenan, 43, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away tragically on June 16, 2026, in Independence, Missouri.
Jeremy was born on November 23, 1982, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He spent much of his childhood and teenage years in Norfolk, Nebraska, where he graduated from Norfolk Senior High School in 2001.
Throughout his life, Jeremy lived in several cities, including Phoenix, Omaha, Lincoln, and most recently Kansas City. He built lasting friendships and touched many lives.
From a young age, Jeremy had a passion for staying active. He participated in football, baseball, soccer, and played the drums in the Norfolk Junior High marching band. His love of music remained with him throughout his life, and he had a gift for writing and creating songs of his own.
Jeremy was known for his creativity, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit. He loved working with his hands, building and improving things, and eventually turned that talent into his own business, Drastic Home Improvements. Whether tackling a home project or helping out a friend, Jeremy took pride in doing things right and giving his best effort.
In his free time, Jeremy enjoyed playing soccer with friends, riding motorcycles, watching sports, and making memories with the people he loved. Jeremy also shared a special bond with his beloved dogs, Rocky and Karma, who were a constant source of companionship and joy in his life.
A devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan, Jeremy proudly supported his team through every season. Chiefs’ colors, clothing, and memorabilia were a familiar part of his life and home. Jeremy thoroughly enjoyed cooking, barbecuing, and having friends and family over to share. He also had an incredible sense of style and took pride in his appearance. Family and friends often joked that he had a hat and a pair of shoes to match every outfit. Whether dressed casually or heading out for the evening, Jeremy always made sure his look was complete and uniquely his own.
More than anything, Jeremy will be remembered for his generous heart. He was the kind of person who showed up when someone needed help, often before being asked. He gave freely of his time, energy, and talents, never expecting anything in return. Knowing he had made a difference was all the reward he needed.
Those who knew Jeremy will remember his kindness, loyalty, witty sense of humor, and willingness to lend a hand. His absence leaves a tremendous void, but his memory will live on through the many lives he touched.
Jeremy is survived by his mother, Deb Keenan; his brother, Jared Keenan; his sisters Joslyn Keenan and Jennifer (Trey) Lansman; his uncles, Greg (Jeanne) Hassel; Michael (Jeanene) Keenan; and Paul Keenan; his aunt, Kathy Keenan; his grandparents, Vince and Nancy Keenan; his nieces, Jadyn Keenan and Lauren Lansman; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Keenan; his grandparents, Eugene and Beverly Hassel; and his grandmother, Phyllis Bowers.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Lincoln, Nebraska, with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, and a luncheon will be held at the funeral home following the burial.
