Every family has its share of colorful characters, and mom was certainly one of ours. Strong-willed, spirited, and never one to fade quietly into the background, she had a personality that was unmistakably her own. She enjoyed being part of the conversation and had a way of keeping those around her on their toes. Mom lived life with her own particular flair, leaving behind a collection of stories and memories that will undoubtedly be remembered and retold for years to come.
Katherine Clara Waterhouse (Jordan) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on
Sunday, October 18, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born on February 12, 1945, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Frederick and Catherine (Schober)Jordan, Kathy was the only daughter in a family of five children. She graduated from Neillsville High School and maintained friendships with many of her classmates throughout the years.
In her younger days, Kathy enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors, though as the years passed, she traded the campground for the comforts of her kitchen. She especially enjoyed her close relationships with her grandchildren, taking an active interest in their daily lives and keeping up with their many activities.
Kathy is survived by her brother, Paul Jordan of Granton, Wi.; her sons, Mike (Dana) Jordan of
rural Wahoo, NE., John (Georgiann) Walker of Lincoln, NE., and Randy Waterhouse of Lincoln,
NE. She will be lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren: Abbi, Alex, Kelsie, Trevor,
Morgan, Camryn, Ryan, Whitney, and Brooklyn. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren,
along with many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Catherine Jordan; her brothers, Fred, Henry, and Auggie; and her special bonus daughter, Debra Lafferty.
Mom’s life, like most, was filled with many chapters, each with its own stories, challenges, and memorable moments. Those who knew her will undoubtedly remember her in their own ways, but one thing is certain: she was never one to be easily forgotten.
We invite family and friends to join us for a memorial service and celebration of life that will be held on Monday November 2nd, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 5200 R Street Lincoln, NE. 68504
