Kayleigh Jo Morrison of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 11, 2026 at the age of 32. Kayleigh was born on June 10, 1994 to her amazing parents Gabe and Janene Morrison in Lincoln, Nebraska. Gabe and Janene welcomed Kayleigh into the world at the young ages of 19 and 18 years old and were fierce advocates for her from the start. Kayleigh brought an incredible amount of joy, light, and love into their lives.
Kayleigh was a proud older sister to Brooke and Cassidy Morrison. They were her pride and joy. Brooke and Cassidy were Kayleigh's best friends from the moment they were born. Kayleigh took her job as the older sister very seriously bossing them around from day 1 and Brooke and Cassidy enjoyed every minute. Kayleigh was Brooke and Cassidy's #1 fan in all activities and clubs they were a part of. Kayleigh, Brooke and Cassidy were inseparable, spending every moment possible together up until Kayleigh's very last breath. Kayleigh enjoyed attending Nebraska sporting events, especially football and gymnastics, sleepovers, car rides, trips to Starbies, watching movies, and singing karaoke to all of her favorite songs with her loving sisters. Her sisters loved to contribute to Kayleigh's vast sunglasses collection by surprising her frequently with new pairs.
Kayleigh graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 2013 and was a proud Rocket. Throughout her years at Northeast, she attended all sporting events possible cheering on her rockets. She especially loved attending the LNE volleyball and basketball games with her favorite coaches on the sideline. Kayleigh had so many friends at Northeast. Everyone in the hallways knew who Kayleigh was and treated her with so much love and respect. Kayleigh touched the hearts of everyone who knew her.
After two years of vocational skills, Kayleigh worked alongside her dad at G&R Graphix. When she started working with Gabe little did he know he would be losing his title as the boss. From then on, she bossed her dad and her buddy Brian around as she ran the front office. She loved staying busy with paperwork, shredding, and greeting customers with a smile.
Kayleigh was a girl who had many passions and hobbies. Gabe and Janene learned of Kayleigh's love of music at a young age when they signed her up for a soccer team and instead of participating in soccer practice she would sit down by the boombox blaring loud music. From there on, her love of music grew. She loved to listen to music on her iPad with her Beats at the highest volume possible. Her favorite artists and songs include Garth Brooks, Taylor Swift, Hannah Montana, the Chicks, and "Bad Boys" from COPS. She also had a deep passion for movies and TV shows. She loved to rewatch movies and TV episodes over and over again and found joy in claiming the living room TV as her own. She absolutely loved Lizzie McGuire, Roseanne, Full House and iCarly. Kayleigh loved to multi-task by listening to music on her iPad and watching TV at the same time. Kayleigh also had some very unique quirky interests which include playing with medical supplies, her "papers" (stamping and filling envelopes), singing karaoke with her countless karaoke machines and microphones over the years, and most recently her gavel. Kayleigh sent her family on a wild goose chase to hunt down a gavel one week before last Christmas. That gavel became one of Kayleigh's most prized possessions and will remain with her forever. She always used her gavel to get her family's attention with her ornery smile.
Kayleigh’s truest love was her mom. She was so blessed to have a mom who stayed home and took the absolute best care of her. Kayleigh and her mom were two peas in a pod and had a one of a kind relationship. Kayleigh would often joke with her mom by calling her “woman” with that sweet smirk on her face. Her mom’s biggest wish was that she would outlive Kayleigh because she never wanted Kayleigh to have to learn to live without her. In true Kayleigh fashion, she made sure her mom’s wish came true.
Kayleigh will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her parents Gabe and Janene (Marx) Morrison; her sisters Brooke Morrison (Jalin Barnett) and Cassidy Morrison (Izayiah Kulawik); her niece Halle Barnett; her grandma Geralyn Marx; her aunt Nancy Eman (Sherry Eman); and a large circle of extended family and dear friends. She was welcomed to heaven by her grandparents Roger Marx, June Morrison, Jim Morrison, and Hilda Loeffelbein along with her dear puppies.
