Lincoln, Nebraska
LaDora Brown answered God’s call on Thursday June 19, 2025 at the age of 92. She was born on June 9, 1933 to James Yeargin and Callie Walker in Lincoln, Nebraska.
She was baptized at the age of 12 at the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Lincoln. She was a member for 80 years-a faithful servant, who was a dedicated worker for the Lord, until a change in her health prevented her attendance. Losing her eyesight, by
glaucoma, didn’t stop her from talking about the Lord and singing his praise.
LaDora was Head Supervisor in the Food Service Division at the University Of Nebraska- Lincoln for numerous years. She was known by the co-workers & students as loving, kind-hearted and made sure those students were fed even after the food lines had closed, no one was going hungry on her “watch”. Also, she was a die-hard Nebraska Cornhuskers football fan and she was fortunate enough to travel with the students to Witness the “College Football Game of the Century “in 1971 at Norman, Oklahoma. She was well known on campus for her cooking. She initiated the annual “SOUL FOOD DINNER” which became an annual event and was later honored by the University. LaDora fed a lot of people that included the neighborhood children but others as well.
She is survived by eight children, five daughters: Brenda Brown, Atlanta, Ga; Kenetta
Henderson, Betty Brown, Katrina Fultz and Latoia Brown , Lincoln, Ne; Three sons:
Dale Brown, North Chicago, IL: Darrell, (Lindsey) Brown, Arnold Brown, Lincoln, NE.
A host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings- Beverly Ivory, Arnold Walker, Son-

LaDora may be gone from your presence but her life was not in vain because she found out “ JESUS IS THE ANSWER” and he’s coming back.
