Louise T Walla

Louise T. Walla, 94, passed away Sept. 28, 2018 at home in Fargo, ND. She was born May 1, 1924 to Henry and Johanna (Ortgies) Brauer. Louise grew up on a farm near Garland, NE, second youngest of 9 children. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Malcolm, and graduated from Malcolm High School and Lincoln School of Commerce. She moved with her family to Seward, NE in 1943 and worked as a book-keeper for several years, including with the Seward County Treasurer. Louise married Adolph Walla Feb. 11, 1950, and they raised their family in Lincoln, NE. Working from home, she sewed Barbie clothes, took in ironing, and did transcription. The family joined Faith Lutheran Church soon after it formed, and Adolph and Louise were members there the rest of their lives. When Adolph died in 2014, she moved to Fargo, ND to live with a son and family, and attended Immanuel Lutheran Church. Louise enjoyed her award-winning gardening (the yard with all the flowers), fishing, sewing, roller-skating, dancing, baking, and being with family. Louise is survived by her children; Jim (Patty) Walla, Fargo, ND, Judi Owens, Camdenton, MO, Dan (Ruth) Walla, Lincoln, NE, Jayne (Brian) Beer, Lincoln, NE, grandchildren; Robert Owens, Jeremy Walla, Jacob (Katie) Owens, Trevor Walla, Jennifer Walla (David Merz), Jonathan (Niccole) Walla, Jeremiah Lyne, Matthew (Trista) Walla, Kelly Beer, Corey Beer, great-grandchildren; Troy Walla, Allen Walla, Josiah Walla, Ja-zeil Travis, Natalie Walla, Aislyn Walla, Jason Walla, John Henry Merz, Brecken Walla.She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers and sisters Adolf, Walter, Sophie, Marie, Paul, Hilda, Victor, and Viola, daughter-in-law Marcia Walla, and son-in-law Bob Owens.
