Marvin DeWayne Hohensee, 86, of Lincoln, NE, passed away peacefully December 13, 2022, with his beloved wife, Joyce, of 67 years by his side. He was born July 6, 1936, to Henry and Ella Hohensee in Western, NE.\nMarvin was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church in Western, NE. He married the love of his life, Joyce, September 2, 1955. After graduating from Western High School in 1953, Marvin helped on the farm before working at Equity Union Grain Company in August of 1953. They merged into Far-Mar-Co in 1968. He was transferred to Hutchinson, KS, in 1979. Then, Union Equity of Enid, OK, bought out Far-Mar-Co in 1985, sending Marvin to Enid, OK, in June of 1985. Farmland then bought out Union Equity in Kansas City in 1992. Marvin was transferred there in July of 1993, until retiring with the title of Coordinator of Engineering, Purchasing, and Compliance in April of 1998, after working almost 45 years in the grain business.\nHe was the president of both the Lincoln Traffic Club and Lincoln Grain Exchange. Marvin was a past member of Nebraska Grain and Feed Association as well as the Grain Elevator and Processing Society.\nMarvin was an Ordained Deacon and Elder. He served on the nominating committee for the Pastor Board of Trustee at a Presbyterian Church in Hickman, NE, and Enid, OK. Marvin taught Sunday School in Hickman, NE, Hutchinson, KS, and Enid, OK. He was honored to be able to serve as an acting Elder at all his grandchildren’s baptisms. He was also a member of the choir in both Enid, OK, and Kansas City. Marvin’s favorite bible verse was Romans 8: 31-39.\nMarvin is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, Joel (Becky) Hohensee; daughter-in-law, Cheryl (Rico); grandchildren, Hope (Paul), Tiffany (Dan), Amber (Nick), Joshua (Casey), and Kaleigh; great grandchildren, Carson, Camdyn, Tenley, Piper, McKenzie, and Charlee.\nHe is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ella Hohensee; son, J.R.; sisters and their husbands, Leola (Henry) Beerenstrauch, Beulah (Alfred) Bohlmeyer, Dorothy (Edward) Voderstrause, Marjorie (Alvin) Kobes, and Irene (Bill) Stewart; brothers and their wives, Louie (Doris) Hohensee, Merlin Hohensee, Melvin Hohensee, David (Dorothy) Hohensee, Wayne (Leola) Hohensee, Dale Hohensee, Virgil Hohensee, and Leo (Bonnie) Hohensee; Sister’s-in-law and their husbands, Shirley (Duane) Wiemers, Marge (Don) Mammen, Rosalie (Dale) DeyErmand, Janet (Bob) Brown, and Bonnie (Leo) Hohensee.\n\nMemorial Service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Hickman Presbyterian Church beginning at 10:30 AM. \n\nMemorials may be donated to Bryan Medical Center and W6NE Hospice Team.
