Mavor Nelson

Mavor L. Nelson, 85, of Valparaiso, passed away July 14, 2024. Born February 8, 1939 to Emil and Della (Pekarek) Ohnoutka in Touhy, Nebraska.

Mavor married Nels J Nelson September 19, 1959.

She owned a gas station with her husband from 1963-2015. Mavor was a member of Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, PCCW, and a member of the Valparaiso Heritage Days Committee.

She enjoyed bowling, golf, playing scratch offs, and the Jumble puzzle in the daily newspaper. She followed all of her grandkids activities and was always on the go. Mavor was a winter Texan for 19 years.

Survived by sons; Tim (Melani) Nelson, Valparaiso, NE, Dan (Connie) Nelson, North Bend, NE, Bob (Tracy) Nelson, Lincoln, NE; grandchildren; Josh (Ashley), Nicole, and Travis Nelson of Valparaiso, NE, Carley and Trevor Nelson, Lincoln, NE, Austin Nelson, Kansas City, MO, Breanne (Travis) Nelson and Brooke Nelson, Lincoln, NE; great-grandchildren; Zayden Nelson, Lincoln, NE, Grayson Davis, Lincoln, NE; brother-in-law; Bill Nelson, Lincoln, NE, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Emil and Della (Pekarek) Ohnoutka, her husband, Nels in 2017, and her sister and brother-in-law Donna (Ohnoutka) and Joe Kobza.
