Nancy Lou Thalken, 65, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully October 25, 2022, surrounded by family. \n \nNancy was born January 6, 1957, in McCook, NE to Dale and Viola Bischoff. They resided in Wauneta, NE and Nancy attended Wauneta Public School until she graduated in 1975. She then went on to attend and graduate from the National College of Business in Rapid City, SD. Nancy moved to Lincoln, NE where she met and married the love of her life, Ladean Thalken on July 21, 1990.\n\nNancy and Ladean enjoyed traveling across the country together, visiting family, and socializing with their close friends. She also was a Nebraska Husker fan and attended several Husker football games. Nancy was active in her church, Trinity Lutheran. She worked for the Nebraska State Department of Correction in the accounting department for 33 years before she retired.\n\nNancy is survived by her husband, Ladean Thalken; brother, Bill (Rhonda) Bischoff; sister, Bev (Bryan) Kahler; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Viola Bischoff. \n\nFuneral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 2nd at Trinity Lutheran Church, 724 S 12th St, Lincoln, NE followed by interment at Wyuka Cemetery, 3600 “O” St, Lincoln, NE. \n\nVisitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 1st at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 5200 R St, Lincoln, NE.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, a memorial has been set up to Trinity Lutheran Church.
