Rick D. Nider, age 70, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will forever cherish his memory.

Rick was known for his hardworking spirit, his generous heart, and his ability to make everyone around him feel valued. He was loved by all who knew him—family, friends, and coworkers alike—and leaves behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and laughter.

He is survived by his children, Jason (Dawn) Nider, Jamie (Brian) Egr, and Jerris (Misty) Nider; his beloved grandchildren, Michael and Owen Egr, and Korban, Karter, and Kenlee Nider; and his significant other, Lisa McMeen. He is also survived by his mother, Kathleen Nider; sisters Becky (Randy) Foster, Debbie (Jeff) Thomas, Karen (Chris) Border, and Dawn (Curt) Jones; along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were like family to him.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Jack Nider.

His strong work ethic, quick wit, and unwavering love for those close to him will be remembered always. Whether sharing a laugh, lending a helping hand, or offering a word of wisdom, Rick had a way of making life better for those around him.

A celebration of Rick’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to share stories and honor the remarkable man he was.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in Rick’s memory—just as he lived his life every day.

An open house will be held Saturday November 22, 2025, from 1-4pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 5200 R Street.
