Lincoln resident Sally J. Johnston, 82, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at Tabitha's The Journey House.Celebration of life will be 11:00am Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 5200 R. St, Lincoln, NE with Life Celebrant, Debbie Way officiating.Memorials may be directed to her family for later designation.Sally J. Johnston was born July 28, 1934 in Bassett, Nebraska, the daughter of Clifford and Hazel (Carlson) Buckendorf. She graduated from Rock County High School and received degrees in both teaching and music from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. Sally married Ronald Burt in 1958, they later separated. She married Paul Johnston in 1979. Sally had a passion for music throughout her life. She played the organ and piano for many church's in Nebraska and for the past 21 years at the Latvian Evangelic Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. Sally was a member of the Lincoln Chapter - American Guild of Organists.Sally is survived by her children, Randall (Maude) Burt of San Antonio, TX, Cameron (Dr. Lynette Moseman) Patterson of Omaha, NE, Charissa Burt of Tucson, Stephanie (Roger) Kessler of Lincoln, NE, and Rex (Mary) Burt of Avondale, AZ; fifteen grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Shirley Cross; and brother, William Buckendorf.
