William Deckard

Randy was born on November 11, 1961, at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Randy grew up in Waverly, Iowa and lived his life in Lincoln, Nebraska. He passed away on April 18, 2025.

Randy was a man of many passions, yet his most cherished was his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Cindy, and a loving father to his daughter, Rachael. His joy was not confined to his immediate family; he was a wonderful brother to his sister Beth and a special uncle to his nephews, Mitchell and Nathan. Randy's love for his family was only surpassed by his love for animals,including his cats Scrabble and Izzy and especially the countless manatees he saved by contributing to the Save the Manatee foundation. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Deckard, and his brother, John Deckard.

Randy was an ardent sports enthusiast, particularly for baseball, and was a die-hard fan of his Michigan teams. His love for reading and music was infectious. He enjoyed many genres and was incredibly knowledgeable when it came to his interests. Randy was very proud of his collections that he had built over his lifetime. Randy was also a man of faith, participating in Bible studies and daily devotions.

After graduating high school, Randy joined the Navy and was proud of the service he gave his country. In his professional life, Randy had a tremendous work ethic. His natural charisma and humor often transformed a routine day into a memorable one for his colleagues and those he interacted with in the community.

Randy was a charismatic man, bringing light and laughter into every room he entered. He had a playful side, known for being a trickster and loved playing pranks on his family and peers. His spirited personality was only matched by his loyal and loving nature, making him a beloved figure amongst his family, friends, and community. His humorous attitude and uplifting spirit will forever be remembered and cherished.
